The greatest classical music event in Indonesia starts THIS MONDAY

The 2nd "Ananda Sukarlan Award" National Piano Competition will officially starts on Monday, July 19th and finishes on Friday 23rd, all events take place at Teater Kecil, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta. Many had registered, but later either they were disqualified or resigned themselves. There will be at last 58 great pianistic talents competing in the toughest competition in this country. Winners & finalists of ASA 2008 have either continued their study abroad, winning other competitions or even graduated, such as our 1st prize winner Inge Buniardi, with a Cum Laude from the Sweelinck Conservatory of Amsterdam. The best young talents of today will be judged by 5 of the most solidly established pianists of Indonesia : Dr. Johannes Sebastian Nugroho, Dr. Hendry Wijaya, Adelaide Simbolon, Inge Buniardi as the unanimous winner of ASA 2008 and Ananda Sukarlan himself as chairman of the jury.

After a gathering of all participants at 4 p.m, Monday July 19th will witness the artistry and dazzling techical virtuosity of Inge Buniardi, performing a Debussy Etude, a Mozart Sonata and Brahms' Sonata no. 3 which is rarely performed in Indonesia. Her concert will start at 7.30 p.m.

The competition itself will start on Tuesday at 3 p.m. One can listen LIVE interpretations of the most virtuosic Chopin Etudes, the most polyphonically complex Bach and Shostakovich Fugues as well as the most sublime Beethoven & Mozart Sonatas. Tickets for Inge Buniardi's inauguration concert is Rp. 75.000, and during ASA is Rp.100.000 for the whole day. This ticket is valid for one full day, so please do not lose it when you go out of the hall and intend to come back.
